My work is in response to my need to connect with something beyond the physical world and explore the deep connection I feel between creativity, the subconscious and the natural world.

Working primarily from memory and imagination, my compositions emerge from an intuitive dialogue between paint and subconscious where I like to begin with diluted washes of paint to stain and leave impressions. This process of allowing images to surface organically with little intellectual interference allows for fragments of an inner landscape to be revealed that I consciously wouldn’t have access to.

Awe inspiring moments in nature serve as both muse and metaphor in my work and have become emotional touchstones that guide my exploration into the magic that lives beyond the ordinary.
