My work is in response to my desire to connect with something beyond the physical world. 

Working from memory and imagination I loose myself in the medium of paint where diluted washes stain and leave impressions on the canvas. As layers are added vague images start to emerge as if from hidden parts of my subconscious. This part of the process where I start to recognise imagery from moments in my own life or thoughts is really fascinating to me. I am intrigued with how little intellectual interference allows for fragments of an inner landscape to be revealed that consciously I wouldn’t necessarily have access to.

Moments in nature are a reoccurring theme in my work, serving as a muse to guide my exploration into the magic that lives beyond the ordinary of everyday moments.
